I think pop pop boats are the best toys
in the world. I have one tug, Avon 555 and a Harbour Tug. I wait for my rum runner.
I love them all.

From: Les Curtis (Wed 25th Jan 2012 at 23:13)
What a wonderful site! These sort of mechanical toys are precisely what is missing in an age when children just want to play computer games, Wi, and Nintendo rubbish. These are real learning toys, as children can actually play with them and learn how they work, not waste their precious early life pressing buttons. I had one of these when I was a boy, over 50 years ago! (Frightening to think where the years have gone..) I think it was made by Mettoy? It had, from memory, a red top and a pale green hull. Does anyone remember them? Does anyone have one? I must buy another one and fill the bath up. (Boys must never grow up, otherwise they become accountants...)

Les.

I live in America and I got a pop pop boat in Massachusetts a couple years ago and I loved it, then I lost it. A couple of days ago our family friend brought one back from Europe and gave it to me.
I'm am 13 and love pop pop boats.

From: Bill (Mon 29th Aug 2011 at 14:34)
Had one of these as a child in the early 1930's. Lots of fun in the days you found your own amusement! Didn't know these toys still existed!

regards Bill

My collection is fairly starting to build, thanks to Poppopboats. So far I have bought the Thundercruise which is very big & noisy! 2 PT109s, I managed to break the 1st one (don't push the boats backwards in the water with a hot and probably empty engine!), but because it is such a lovely boat, I just had to buy another to replace it. I also have a Rum Runner, this must surely be one of the fastest pop pop boats around? The Kalakala is another great one, still haven't decided whether to paint it or not and lastly, I also got the Indonesian Fisherman's Delight boats. I'm going to have to race these down at the nearby pond! There are still a few I really want for my collection (the Titanic, the boat from Ponyo and one of the small PT109s), but Poppopboats have gotten me well and truly started.

From: MARTIN PHILLIPS (Fri 13th Aug 2010 at 17:49)
I bought the Super cruiser for me, and the Avon555 x3 for my uncle's birthday. Loved the Super cruiser, then bought 4 basic pop pops.I recommend running on olive oil. Basic pop pop ran non stop with one refuel for 55mins 59secs. Excellent delivery times, and I am very happy with purchases.Fun in the bath, and an excellent science project for school. Also a good Party game.
I will collect more!!

From: Esteban (Sun 25th Jul 2010 at 22:07)
Very beautiful your toys! Would be very good to have in Argentina. Unfortunately there are none of these types of toys in Argentina.
I really like their boats! (Translated)

Esteban

I am just getting into pop pop boats, I have built a boiler out of a pepsi can and have bendy straws for the exhaust. I then made a boat out of some paper plates, it runs good! I am thinking about buying a motor or complete boat from your website. I love these boats!

From: Robin (Mon 5th Jul 2010 at 20:29)
Took a boat to work today (I work in a school).

Teachers all impressed, I may well soon be ordering a set of 'engines' so that science club can build their own steam boats from old baccy tins.

Much cheaper than buying a demo Mamod engine ;-)

From: Robin (Sun 4th Jul 2010 at 13:56)
Another Helmsley Steam show victim here.

Bought 2 unpainted pop-pops on Saturday. I couldn't wait to get home and paint them so had them buzzing round a washing-up bowl on the campsite. There was soon a small crowd of 'children' gathered round, I was the youngest and I'm in my 40s :-D

Painted piccies coming as soon as I have them done.

From: William (Sun 4th Jul 2010 at 00:07)
Got 2 boats from you today at the steam engine rally at Helmsley, they are brill

ps I was the one with the leeds shirt on :-)))))))

From: Adam (Sun 9th May 2010 at 19:50)
Thanks a lot.

I have bought three boats off of you, I bought two chimney boats, which I received very promptly and marvelled at the very pretty boxes they came in.

I have also recently bought 'Titanic' which I have yet to receive (only placed order today)

Just wanted to say thanks.

Adam

PS: I would openly recommend one of the AVON 555's or a Welby Lithographed boat for beginners

Thank you for the boats. Arrived in time for Christmas and made interesting presents. Christmas day was a blast!

The unpainted tugs will go down a treat, and I will send you some pictures to put on your pages when they're painted.

I've signed up for your news letter, look forward to some new models in the near future.

Best Wishes

Harry

Just a quick note - The pop boat I bought last week is great. Hubby saw these at a steam fair in the summer, and we should have bought one then. I got this one as a stocking filler - he'll love it.
Thanks again, I'm sure he'll want another few after Christmas.
